How do I get started?
With a phone call to our experienced Senior Care Consultants we will do an assessment of your loved ones Medical, Social, and Financial needs in locating housing.
- We will set up a time to tour you to the State Licensed Assisted Living Facilities or Homes that fit the needs of your loved one.
- We will process the medical paperwork to get your loved one placed.
- We help negotiate prices of the homes.
- We will visit your loved one once they are placed and follow up on their care and well being.
- We provide you helpful information on Alzheimer’s & Dementia support groups and any additional referral services to help with the transition.
Who are we and how long have we been in business?
Senior Living Consultants is proud to be a locally owned and operated L.L.C. We started in Bakersfield, California in 1997.
What areas do we serve?
We serve all of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and Kern Counties.

How are we paid?
We are a private business. All of the retirement homes that we work with pay us a small finder’s fee when we successfully place a client into their facility.
Will I have to sign anything for Senior Living Consultants to help me?
Yes, We have a document for you to fill out that gives us permission to help you.
Understanding that you pay NO fees for this assistance, and our assistance is only given at YOUR discretion.
What if I change my mind?
It is no problem at all, we are here when you need us. If for some reason you do not want to move after all, or you choose a home outside of our network, we will simply wish you luck, close our case and file it away. We are only here to help.
Do I need to call around to different retirement homes?
No, there is no need for you to spend your time calling around different facilities only to find that they are not right for you. We have placed many residents in local homes, and try to match up personalities to insure a successful placement. We also have inspection reports, maps, and much more information because we deal with these facilities regularly.
How Long does it take to find an appropriate facility and move in?
We have placed many clients in as little as 24 hours. We’ve also had many clients that preferred to wait several months before they moved in. It is an individual choice.
How do I allow you to act on my family member’s behalf?
We have a document for you to fill out that gives us permission to help you.
